SMPS North Florida Transportation Breakfast & JRTC Tour

SMPS North Florida is excited to announce our February Transportation Event. This year Andy Rogers, P.E., Director of Construction and Engineering with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) will be speaking on the newly constructed Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC). Please join us for breakfast, a presentation from Andy, and tour the new JRTC building.

About The Speaker| Andy Rodgers:

Andrew C. Rodgers, P.E., is the Director of Construction and Engineering for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) in Jacksonville, Florida. The JTA is an independent agency of the State of Florida governed by a seven-member board of directors and led by CEO Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. The JTA operates Jacksonville’s public bus service, St. Johns River Ferry, the Skyway (automated monorail in downtown), paratransit service, trolleys, and the GameDay Xpress shuttle for sporting events. The Authority also plans, designs, and constructs roads and bridges.

In Andrew’s current role, he is responsible for design and construction oversight of the agency’s capital infrastructure projects. Programs and projects under his direction include the First Coast Flyer Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system; JTAMobilityWorks roadway improvements; Saint Johns River Ferry capital infrastructure; facilities renovations and new construction, including the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla; and bus stop improvements. He also leads the Authority’s sustainability program.

He joined JTA in 2010. He has more than 15 years of experience in design and construction of transportation projects, including transit, roadway, rail and facilities. Prior to joining JTA, he managed planning, design and construction of intermodal rail and roadway projects, gaining experience in the public and private sectors.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Auburn University and a MBA from the University of North Florida. He is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Alabama.
